What is  Water light needle?

This facial rejuvenation procedure is one of the more popular to maintain the dewy looking complexion. Colloquially known as 水光针, the procedure involves micro-injections of hyaluronic acid or bio-stimulants into the skin to hydrate it from the inside out.

Young skin is smooth and highly elastic because it contains high concentrations of Hyaluronic Acid, one of the most hydrophilic (water loving) substance that binds water to the skin. Unfortunately, as we age, the concentration of Hyaluronic Acid in our skin decreases which results in skin becoming drier and dull looking.

Skin booster procedure increases the Hyaluronic Acid levels in our skin, improving its ability to hold water thus keeping skin hydrated, plump and supple. Well hydrated skin has a firm and smooth surface that reflects light better, giving it a radiant and dewy appearance. Apart from the hydrating effect, the micro-injection action activates the skin’s natural repair mechanism to stimulate collagen production to improve skin elasticity.

What the treatment involves:

Treated area will be numbed with topical anesthesia (numbing cream). The Hyaluronic Acid or bio-stimulants is then deposited into the skin using micro fine needles. Some patients may experience slight pin prick sensation around the more sensitive areas of the face. The procedure takes about 15 to 20 mins.

After the treatment:

There may be slight redness and swelling. Bruising may also occur at the injection sites. However, the redness and bruising, if any, should resolve in 3 to 7 days’ time. To minimise bruising, patient is given a cold compress and advised to rest in the clinic for about 30 minutes. Patients are advised to avoid places of high heat (eg sauna) to lengthen the effect of fillers.
